About us

Matthew Kraft

Matthew Kraft began his Merrill Lynch career in 1994. His 10-member private banking team advises a select group of entrepreneurial families. Representative clients include CEOs of both public and privately held companies, single and multifamily offices, and professional investors. Matt is also responsible for managing the personal portfolios of senior executives at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. He and his team strive to deliver a client experience that offers both the intimacy of a boutique and the refined capabilities of a global institution. New clients must have minimum net worth of $25mm.

Matt began his career as a Financial Analyst in the Investment Manager Research and Analysis Division of Merrill Lynch. In this capacity, he advised a prestigious client base ranging from individual members of the Forbes 400 to world-renowned foundations, endowments and pension plans. He has particular depth in asset management, capital markets transactions and concentrated stock strategies.

Matt graduated with a B.A. from Indiana University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia Business School. He successfully completed the coursework and exam for the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation, sponsored by the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) at the Wharton School. Matt was selected for the Private Banking and Investment Group National Advisory Council to Management, serving for five years. As a member of this Council, Matt collaborated with other Private Wealth Advisors and Senior Management throughout Bank of America and Merrill Lynch to drive strategy for the ultra-high-net-worth client segment. Matt is a regular speaker at national industry conferences on topics such as asset management and business monetization.

While Matt’s technical training is in asset management, his passion lies in the realm of family governance. He has studied at the Money, Meaning and Choice Institute and prides himself on helping families navigate the challenges and opportunities that accompany substantial wealth. He is experienced in facilitating family meetings, conducting values retreats and addressing complex family-related financial issues that often occur within larger, ultra-high-net-worth families.
