About us

Wealth creators, including entrepreneurs, C-suite executives, and founding families of SEC-listed companies continue to be core clients. Given the wealth generated by their successful business models, these clients value risk management, asset growth, asset preservation, and tax-efficient transfers of wealth above all else.

With shorter investment horizons than large endowments or pension funds, many families are under served by the basic principles of asset allocation. The randomness of market timing, coincident with a single liquidity event, may have a greater impact on their investment performance, requiring a more tactical investment profile.

We advise clients throughout the United States in a variety of industries, including medical devices, health care, aviation, commercial real estate, consumer products, distribution, food brokerage, manufacturing, publishing, and oil & gas.

Chris Gardner has managed customized core equity and fixed income portfolios for affluent families for over 25 years. He utilizes a top-down investment strategy, prioritizing both asset growth and wealth preservation elements within all portfolios. Chris has significant experience in navigating varied economic climates and markets, particularly periods of prolonged volatility.

Bill Sullivan brings a multi-disciplinary international approach to clients. A private banker for over a decade, he also draws on his experience in capital markets, corporate finance, and tax accounting, as well as having lived and worked in Europe and Asia.*

The Private Banking and Investment Group at Merrill Lynch

Our division, known as PBIG, engages ultra-high-net-worth families with Private Wealth Advisors who have decades of experience delivering wealth management services to a small client base with complex and sophisticated needs.

At PBIG, families can access the commercial bank, capital markets, advanced estate planning strategies, risk management, consolidated reporting, C-suite restricted stock services, and additional private banking services, as well as attend exclusive conferences and networking events. PBIG recognizes that its clients demand institutional offerings and execution, tailored to their needs as risk-averse stewards of multi-generational wealth.

*In his role at Merrill Lynch, Bill does not provide tax advice.

Asset allocation does not ensure a profit or protect against loss in declining markets.
