The Gray Team oversees approximately $9B in assets as of May 1, 2015 for 35 entrepreneurs and wealthy families. We help clients reach their goals through a disciplined wealth management program anchored by their values. We collaborate with clients and their advisory team to develop an integrated approach where investment performance, a thoughtful estate strategy, and family dynamics guide the decision-making process.
Our team determines clients’ needs and preferences and develops customized strategies that leverage the extensive financial platform of Merrill Lynch. We provide high quality personalized service and help clients realize their personal vision.
We address such keys areas as estate and trust planning strategies, asset management, liabilities, cash and single stock risk. We also manage equity and fixed income portfolios directly for clients.

Eric leads the Gray Group within the Private Banking and Investment Group at Merrill Lynch. As of May 1, 2015, the Gray Group oversees more than $9 billion in assets for entrepreneurs and wealthy families.
Eric has been a professional in the financial services industry since 1992. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, he was with Goldman Sachs in the Private Client Group. He earned an MBA in finance and marketing from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
Eric was named as one of the Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors every year from 2010 - 20151 and was recently named a Financial Times Top 400 advisor in 2013, 2014, and 20152.
Prior to business school, Eric worked for seven years with a start-up computer company that pioneered the development of digital audio and computer technology for film and music production.
Eric earned his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, and also studied percussion with Arthur Press of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and at the New England Conservatory.
Eric is also the founder of the Los Angeles Sailing Foundation, a 501(c)3 dedicated to teach sailing to underprivileged children, and is a Staff Commodore at the Los Angeles Yacht Club. In 2011, Eric took 1st in class in the Transpac sailboat race from Los Angeles to Hawaii.
Eric lives with his wife and two daughters in Manhattan Beach, California.

Lance has been working in the financial services industry for 6 years, which includes extensive research experience in international oil markets and Latin American economies. He obtained his B.A. in Political Science from University of California Berkeley and his M.Sc. from the London School of Economics. Kathya is the team's senior associate. She has focused in private client services throughout her 25+ years in the financial industry. She is responsible for account administration, movement of funds, 105b-1 plan administration and trading. She is involved in various philanthropic causes including L.A. Regional Food Bank and St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Kathya is fluent in Spanish.
